CDL Training FAQs
Who provides the equipment?
We can use our client’s vehicles, or, depending on the specific nature of the engagement, Ancora may be able to provide one instead.
Where will the training course be located?
Ancora’s unique program model is usually deployed at our client’s location, either on-site or at a separate facility.
Is the CDL training program ELDT compliant?
Yes! Ancora’s CDL program has been ELDT compliant since before the FMCSA enacted ELDT rules in February 2022.
Does Ancora Training provide third-party testing?
Yes, in some locations. Our ability to provide third-party testing is contingent upon several factors, including state licensure and certification requirements, volume of trainees, space availability, and other aspects.
What are the prerequisites for CDL courses?
Students must successfully pass the federally mandated background checks and have obtained their Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) prior to the start of class. Students should consult their local DMV for instructions on obtaining a CLP.
How long does the course take to Ancora’s CDL course?
While the length of the course may vary based on the nature of our engagement, our standard, full-time CDL-A course is 160 hours.
Skilles Trades FAQs
Who provides the course materials/equipment?
For our skilled trades programs, Ancora provides the curriculum and instructor. Generally speaking, we recommend using our clients’ equipment, so students can learn on machines they will be using in the field.
Where will the training take place?
Our skilled trades courses are conducted at our clients’ site. Some programs are offered in a hybrid modality, which combines both in-person learning with sophisticated online coursework.
What modalities are offered for these programs?
The type of modality varies depending on the course being taught. Some disciplines require in-person learning; some are conducted 100% online, and some are available in a hybrid format.

What if there is a course I want but needs some customization?
Ancora specializes in tailoring training solutions to our individual client’s specific needs. Our teams will work with you to ensure the program we launch aligns with your organization’s values, expectations, and both short-term and long-term goals.
How long does it take to get a course up and running?
The runway to establish a new program is affected by the type of course, the level of customization needed, and other factors. Most courses are launched within 90 days of contract signing.
General Information FAQs
Does Ancora Training offer funding/grants?
While we do not provide direct funding, we have partnered with our higher education clients to accommodate a wide range of funding options, including WIOA grants, VA resources, state and federal funding opportunities, and local employer partnerships to partially or fully underwrite the cost of training.
What are the basic marketing materials Ancora provides?
Our support for your program doesn’t stop with program launch. We’ll coordinate with your marketing team to identify best ways to promote your program, such as through marketing assets, social media campaigns, press releases and more.
What is the student to instructor ratio?
The student-to-instructor ratio depends on the course taught, and is affected by things like the nature of the equipment used, the modality of the course, and . For example, our CDL courses are typically structured with a 4:1 student to instructor ratio.
